On Friday, February 28, 2025, members of UTK PRSSA traveled to Atlanta for a professional development trip focused on exploring careers in public relations and creative strategy. The group departed the CCI Building at 6 a.m.. The day began with a visit to American Express, where alumna Laura Gamo, Senior Manager of Creative Strategy, shared insights about Amex Business Blueprint and her career journey. After a quick lunch stop, the group visited FleishmanHillard and Porter Novelli, where they met with alumni Chris Potter and Demeika Wheaton, both Senior Vice Presidents, who offered valuable perspectives on agency life and leading communications in a significant market. The trip provided an exciting and informative look at career opportunities in the PR industry and allowed students to connect directly with professionals in the field.
